You don’t meet people by accident.

They are meant to cross

your path for a reason.

Remember:

you never do the walk alone.

An introduction

A letter from the Dean

of the University of Ghent

Who are we

Heads Up Fund

Twelve years ago I lost my son Luka, after an unfair battle
against a brain tumour, after 4 years of bearing his illness
with great courage and patience.

Carla Van Caeneghem founded the ‘Heads Up Fund’ after his passing away,
which aims to be a financial support centre for the scientific fight
against brain tumours.

What we do

Fund for Brain Tumour Research

Heads Up symbolizes hope and resilience, supporting research

like dose painting and motility trapping — innovative techniques

aimed at improving the treatment of brain tumours in children and adults.

Dose painting

Key projects supported by Heads Up focus on innovative techniques to improve treatments.

Motility trapping

Another promising area of research is motility trapping, which aims to halt the movement of invasive cancer cells.
